In March I was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. My surgeon at St. Louis University Hospital recommended septoplasty, and I have been placed on the schedule for June. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $6,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay, I'm still $4,950 short. Doctors at St. Louis University Hospital told me a benign brain tumor will get worse without septoplasty. I work as a farm laborer, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $6,250 is far beyond what I've. Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a farm laborer have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. I'll not be able to lift anything heavy during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $4,950 goes: • Post-operative medication: $410 • Travel and lodging for the family: $340 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $3,500 • Physiotherapy sessions: $310 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $390 Glad we found this place.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Axel

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. post-operative medication comes first ($410) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for asking.
