Atsushi needs a stair-climbing aid - help us make it happen
A stair-climbing aid would give Atsushi independence - we're $4,950 away.
🇯🇵 Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan807 views
I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at the Shinjuku Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,950.
My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $4,950 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $145
• stair-climbing aid: $4,700
• Delivery and set-up: $105
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
Updates from Atsushi
Quick update: $118 raised so far (2%). I made the first payment toward stair-climbing aid. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
