Aoife needs a powered wheelchair - help us make it happen
Help Aoife get a powered wheelchair so She can attend work interviews.
🇮🇪 Kilkenny, Leinster, Ireland1,327 views
Aoife lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Kilkenny Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $400.
Her current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Aoife could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $125
• Delivery and set-up: $95
• First-year servicing plan: $180
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
