Luca needs an adapted tricycle that the health system won't fund; the cost is $7,800.

I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the New York Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended an adapted tricycle. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $7,800.
My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $7,800 goes:
• adapted tricycle: $7,000
• Fitting and training sessions: $300
• Delivery and set-up: $155
• First-year servicing plan: $345
