I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at the Jakarta Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended an adapted tricycle. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $950.
My current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $950 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $35
• First-year servicing plan: $35
• adapted tricycle: $880
