Akinyi lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at the Kampala Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,250.
Her current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment Akinyi could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• pair of hearing aids: $1,150
• Fitting and training sessions: $20
• Delivery and set-up: $10
• First-year servicing plan: $70

Sure. The biggest one is pair of hearing aids, $1,150. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Appreciate you taking the time.
