ACL reconstruction for Nicolás: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled ACL reconstruction in October is out of reach without help covering $1,050 of the cost.

Nicolás was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in August. The surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,750, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,050 short.
my son has been in and out of Saint Matthew Hospital since August. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Nicolás struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Nicolás won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $80
• Travel and lodging for the family: $70
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $720
• Physiotherapy sessions: $180
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
