Acacia Park needs a sensory garden for children with autism - Doris's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Anaheim are raising $4,900 for a sensory garden for children with autism at Acacia Park.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $4,900.
It will serve about 220 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $4,900 goes:
• Materials: $3,700
• Permits and inspections: $380
• Safety equipment and signage: $260
• Tools hire and delivery: $560
Every share and every dollar helps.

Hope it all works out, Doris. It takes guts to ask. Well done. All the best.
