A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in Tangier
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $700 for materials.
🇲🇦 Morocco1,767 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Lotus bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $700.
It will serve about 244 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $700 goes:
• Materials: $440
• Permits and inspections: $60
• Safety equipment and signage: $85
• Tools hire and delivery: $115
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
