Abubakar is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in civil engineering at Badagry University, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $450.
The registrar has said Abubakar can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Abubakar has a top-ten-percent average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Abubakar would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Abubakar isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $450 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $400
• Textbooks and materials: $20
• Exam and lab fees: $30

Updates from Queen
Good news. Because of your gifts ($273 in total) I made the first payment toward outstanding tuition balance. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
