The gas account is 4 months behind. Tabitha received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on October unless $150 is paid. She had never been late before July's medical emergency.
Tabitha called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $15 first, which isn't available.
The household includes an elderly mother, and going through the cold months without gas isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
Tabitha is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Tabitha's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.

• Reconnection and late fees: $25
• Down payment on a payment plan: $20
