Dignity in old age: caring for Abigail
Abigail can't afford the care She needs after a stroke last June; we're asking for $700.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 84. After a stroke last June Abigail can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Abigail desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Abigail worked all of her life as a nurse, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $700 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $65
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $85
• Part-time carer (six months): $550
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
