A youth football pitch for the Jacaranda vacant lot: help our neighbors in Surat

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $200. It will serve about 448 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $200 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $95 • Permits and inspections: $50 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Deepa
