A youth football pitch for the Harmony community hall: help our neighbors in Cape Town
Volunteers in Cape Town are raising $600 for a youth football pitch at the Harmony community hall.
🇿🇦 Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa527 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $330, and the remaining cost is $600.
It will serve about 288 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $600 goes:
• Materials: $450
• Permits and inspections: $80
• Safety equipment and signage: $70
Thank you so much.
