A youth football pitch for Freedom Park: help our neighbors in Montréal
Volunteers in Montréal are raising $3,850 for a youth football pitch at Freedom Park.
🇨🇦 Quebec, Canada1,776 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,850.
It will serve about 434 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,850 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $200
• Safety equipment and signage: $240
• Materials: $3,410
Thanks for being kind about this.

Stay strong, Luna. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor in Caloocan donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
Hang in there, Luna. Great idea, hope you get there. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best.
Rooting for you. Shared this with my family. Thinking of Montréal!
Praying for you, Luna. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. All the best.
