A youth football pitch for Acacia Park: help our neighbors in Hialeah
A community-led a youth football pitch at Acacia Park that will serve 133 neighbors.
🇺🇸 United States1,151 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,400.
It will serve about 133 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,400 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $240
• Permits and inspections: $300
• Materials: $2,860
Thank you so much.

Keep going, Aaliyah. Your post was clear and honest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
hope this works out for you. Greetings from Agra.
Good luck, Aaliyah. Your post was clear and honest. God bless.
reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 24 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Parramatta!
