A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Perth

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $2,650. It will serve about 419 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,650 goes: • Materials: $1,950 • Permits and inspections: $170 • Safety equipment and signage: $320 • Tools hire and delivery: $210 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Hui
