A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Fresno
Volunteers in Fresno are raising $2,300 for a youth football pitch at the Harmony health centre yard.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,300.
It will serve about 517 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Materials: $1,400
• Permits and inspections: $195
• Safety equipment and signage: $155
• Tools hire and delivery: $550
