A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Chattanooga
Volunteers in Chattanooga are raising $3,050 for a youth football pitch at Maple Park.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $3,050.
It will serve about 493 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,050 goes:
• Materials: $2,300
• Permits and inspections: $115
• Safety equipment and signage: $175
• Tools hire and delivery: $460
