Bellevue
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,050. It will serve about 183 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,050 goes: • Permits and inspections: $150 • Safety equipment and signage: $140 • Materials: $1,760 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
