A weekly visit for Ayesha, 87, who lives alone in Mardan
Ayesha lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Ayesha, who's 87. Ayesha lives alone in Mardan, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives 783 kilometers away.
Ayesha loves gardening, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Sunday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Thanks for being kind about this.

I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Wish I lived closer to Sandton so I could bring a meal. Love from Amritsar

hope it all works out. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 28 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings.
Sending strength. Shared this with my family. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Mardan.

Best of luck, Fatima. Get well soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.

Wishing you the best, Fatima. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 17 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
