Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Wednesday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 20 families, and now we feed 118 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 59% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Saket market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $350 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $20
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $280
• Baby formula and diapers: $50

Wanted to say thank you properly. 6% funded and I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($170 in total) I made the first payment toward refrigeration and electricity. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
