For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 335 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $300 goes: • Materials: $200 • Safety equipment and signage: $70 • Permits and inspections: $30 Every share and every dollar helps.
