Kasarani
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Park, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 150 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $450 goes: • Materials: $320 • Permits and inspections: $30 • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $50 With deep gratitude, Joyce
