A skate park for the Lotus community hall: help our neighbors in Jeddah
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $1,950 for materials.
🇸🇦 Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia1,952 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $720, and the remaining cost is $1,950.
It will serve about 518 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,950 goes:
• Materials: $1,550
• Permits and inspections: $105
• Tools hire and delivery: $295

Hope it all works out, Dalia. I hope things turn around soon. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless
You're not alone, Dalia. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Thinking of you and your family, Dalia. Great idea, hope you get there. Love from Cali
So sorry you're going through this. Looking forward to the next update. My neighbor in Leicester donated after I showed her your page.
Hang in there, Dalia. I hope things turn around soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless
Best of luck, Dalia. Shared this with my family. Put this on a community board in Sydney this morning. All the best.
