Benin City
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 423 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $350 goes: • Materials: $155 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $65 • Tools hire and delivery: $90 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
