A skate park for the Acacia vacant lot: help our neighbors in Burnaby
Volunteers in Burnaby are raising $3,600 for a skate park at the Acacia vacant lot.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,600.
It will serve about 196 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.

• Safety equipment and signage: $450
• Permits and inspections: $310
• Materials: $2,840
