Volunteers in Makati are raising $500 for a skate park at Cedar Park.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Park, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 196 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $500 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $85 • Materials: $370 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 If you're reading this, thank you.

Updates from Gianna

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($377 in total) the plan for tools hire and delivery is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Small update. $281 so far, we've started the first stage.

  3. We're at 42% thanks to 4 of you. I made the first payment toward safety equipment and signage. More news soon.
