A skate park for Acacia Primary School: help our neighbors in Los Angeles
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $3,150 for materials.
🇺🇸 United States679 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $1,450, and the remaining cost is $3,150.
It will serve about 176 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,150 goes:
• Materials: $2,500
• Permits and inspections: $195
• Safety equipment and signage: $155
• Tools hire and delivery: $300
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Thinking of you, Miguel. Your post was clear and honest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from London.

Good luck, Miguel. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Hamilton.
