A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Campinas
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $1,350 for materials.
Anywhere in the world561 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,350.
It will serve about 116 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Materials: $1,050
• Permits and inspections: $75
• Safety equipment and signage: $120
• Tools hire and delivery: $105
Glad we found this place.

shared this with my family. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from San Francisco!
Good luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless
Wishing you the best, Jéssica. I hope things turn around soon. Please keep us posted. God bless.
