San Francisco
Manuel served fourteen years in the air force and was discharged in 2023 with hearing damage and PTSD. He has been waiting nine months for support, and meanwhile is sleeping at a brother's place. The plan: a vocational welding course and tools. The quote comes to $5,750. Manuel is receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and is committed to recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces. I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden. Where the $5,750 goes: • Housing deposit and first month: $2,050 • Training provider fees: $3,300 • Essential household items: $400 If you're reading this, thank you.

Updates from Marites

  1. Update from San Francisco: I made the first payment toward housing deposit and first month. We're at 26% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  2. Small update. $1,209 so far, we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($984 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

thanks for sharing this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 9 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
