Adrian was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in August. The surgeon at Saint Luke Hospital recommended spinal decompression surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $12,000, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $5,950 short. my father has been in and out of Saint Luke Hospital since August. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $12,000 is more than we can find. While we wait, Adrian struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Adrian won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $5,950 goes: • Physiotherapy sessions: $880 • Post-operative medication: $390 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $3,650 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $540 • Travel and lodging for the family: $490 Thanks for being kind about this. - Denise

  • You're not alone, Denise. Shared it with a few friends. After 23 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

    • Praying for you, Denise. Gave what I could, wish it was more. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry

      • You're not alone. Hope the doctors have good news. Put this on a community board in Duluth this morning. Take care

                • Thinking of you and your family. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out.
