For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Union bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 252 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $600 goes: • Materials: $430 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Safety equipment and signage: $75 • Tools hire and delivery: $75 Every share and every dollar helps.
