A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in Mohammedia
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $350 for materials.
🇲🇦 Mohammedia, Casablanca-Settat, Morocco840 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 243 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $350 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Materials: $230
• Tools hire and delivery: $70
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Mohammedia.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
Hang in there, Idris. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
