My sister Gül has been accepted for treatment at Çankaya Children's Hospital in Çankaya, starting on Wednesday in October. We live 170 km away in a rural district, and hotel costs would use up what we have set aside for the treatment itself. We're looking for a room, granny flat or short-term rental within about 30 minutes of the hospital, for 5 weeks. Two of us would stay: Gül and me. We can contribute $35 a week and cook for the household if you'd like. Gül will have some immune precautions, so a clean, smoke-free place would be ideal. A kitchen is a bonus. Thank you. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • Rooting for you. Hope the doctors have good news!

    • You're not alone, Tarık. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Çankaya!

      • best of luck. I hope things turn around soon. It's not much but it's yours. Love from Oakland.

        • Take care. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.

Wishing Gül a smooth procedure and a full recovery. After 8 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Çankaya
