A repair café workshop for the Liberty vacant lot: help our neighbors in Jakarta Barat
Volunteers in Jakarta Barat are raising $550 for a repair café workshop at the Liberty vacant lot.
🇮🇩 Jakarta Barat, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia1,043 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 238 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $550 goes:
• Materials: $400
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $55
• Tools hire and delivery: $55

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Pandu?
Thank you. If you're in Jakarta Barat I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for asking.
Sending strength. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.
rooting for you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. God bless.
this could happen to any of us. Greetings from Noida.
Sending good thoughts, Pandu. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Stay strong, Pandu. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Pretoria.
wishing you the best. Great idea, hope you get there. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Keep going, Pandu. Hope you get there. God bless.
