For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 464 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $500 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $85 • Tools hire and delivery: $105 • Materials: $310 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
