A rainwater harvesting system for Baobab Park: help our neighbors in Warsaw
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at Baobab Park that will serve 346 neighbors.
🇵🇱 Poland1,339 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $270, and the remaining cost is $1,000.
It will serve about 346 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $175
• Materials: $730
• Permits and inspections: $95

Take care, Teresa. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor in San Francisco donated after I showed her your page. God bless.
Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Warsaw.
Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about tools hire and delivery, advice is welcome too. I'll keep the page updated.
You're not alone. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Warsaw
I hope things turn around soon. Thinking of Warsaw.
Sending strength, Teresa. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer.
