A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Vancouver
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $3,600 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $940, and the remaining cost is $3,600.
It will serve about 273 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,600 goes:
• Materials: $2,550
• Permits and inspections: $210
• Safety equipment and signage: $240
• Tools hire and delivery: $600
