Jakarta Barat
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 504 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $500 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $75 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 • Materials: $380 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
