A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Caxias do Sul
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at Maple Primary School that will serve 509 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $650.
It will serve about 509 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $650 goes:
• Materials: $400
• Safety equipment and signage: $95
• Tools hire and delivery: $155
