A prosthetic leg for Yasir: help me move freely
A prosthetic leg would give Yasir independence - we're $6,750 away.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom294 views
I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at the Coventry Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,750.
My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $6,750 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $6,250
• Fitting and training sessions: $135
• Delivery and set-up: $125
• First-year servicing plan: $240
Thanks for being kind about this.

Hope things get better soon, Yasir. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
