Florence lives with multiple sclerosis. The occupational therapist at the Eldoret Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,350.
Her current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment Florence could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $1,200
• Fitting and training sessions: $65
• Delivery and set-up: $15
• First-year servicing plan: $70
