A prosthetic leg for Asher: help Asher move freely
Asher needs a prosthetic leg that the health system will not fund; the cost is $6,300.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom852 views
Asher lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at the London Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,300.
His current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment Asher could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $6,300 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $5,750
• Fitting and training sessions: $290
• Delivery and set-up: $110
• First-year servicing plan: $150

Shared it with a few friends. I have a 14 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from Salerno.
