A powered wheelchair for Tomás: help Tomás move freely
A powered wheelchair would give Tomás independence - we're $1,950 away.
🇦🇷 Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina2,128 views
Tomás lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at Rosario General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,950.
His current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Tomás could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,950 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $80
• Delivery and set-up: $30
• powered wheelchair: $1,840

best of luck. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Hang in there. It takes guts to ask. Well done. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care
