Nhung lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at Hồ Chí Minh City General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,500.
Her current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment Nhung could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $1,400
• Fitting and training sessions: $25
• Delivery and set-up: $25
• First-year servicing plan: $50
