José lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at the Mar del Plata Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $150. His current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 7 weeks. With the right equipment José could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $150 goes: • Fitting and training sessions: $100 • First-year servicing plan: $45 • Delivery and set-up: $5 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Updates from Carmen

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($25 in total) I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely. - Carmen

  2. Thank you all. We're at 50% now ($75). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward fitting and training sessions.
