A powered wheelchair for Bennett: help Bennett move freely
Bennett needs a powered wheelchair that the health system won't fund; the cost is $2,900.
🇺🇸 United States1,610 views
Bennett lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the San Jose Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,900.
His current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Bennett could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $2,200
• Fitting and training sessions: $175
• Delivery and set-up: $150
• First-year servicing plan: $375
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
