A powered wheelchair for Ake: help me move freely
Help Ake get a powered wheelchair so He can go outside without waiting for someone to push.
🇹🇭 Phuket, Phuket, Thailand404 views
I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at the Phuket Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $550.
My current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $550 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $35
• Fitting and training sessions: $90
• powered wheelchair: $425
Thanks for being kind about this.

Good luck. Hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless
Thinking of you, Ake. Shared this with my family. Thinking of Phuket!
Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Kolkata.
Take care, Ake. Shared this with my family. Love from Yekaterinburg.
