A playground for the Pioneer vacant lot: help our neighbors in Recife
Volunteers in Recife are raising $350 for a playground at the Pioneer vacant lot.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 80 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $350 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $185
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Permits and inspections: $130
